NYFW CHRONICLES: J.CREW FOR THE WIN
We’re hot and heavy into NYFW and whether you’ve been to a show or have just seen shit on Instagram, there are lessons to be learned. J.Crew fucking slayed this season and honestly, we’re obsessed. They’ve mixed colors with patterns, patterns with textures, and to top it all off: we can actually replicate some of the looks. Don’t get me wrong I love watching high fashion… but I can’t realistically walk into Sweetgreen with my nipples out. Or rather, I really shouldn’t.
Here are three looks that should not only inspire you, but also give you hope that warm weather is coming SOON (fingers crossed).
Look #1: Chic AF. Let’s face it, you’re probably thinking “hmm, am I bold enough to pull off this wide leg look?” And the answer my friends is yes. Last time I checked, this is the year of not giving a fuck. Swap the Yankees hat with our Bad Betch Snapback, replace the stuffy button up with a rolled tee, and you’re guaranteed a day’s worth of outfit envy glares.
Look #2: There’s literally nothing better than a good pattern on pattern. This look is so easily replicable as it has endless combo opportunities. Dig out your cutest pair of jeans and tuck in a patterned, over the shoulder top. Peep the cuffs on this shirt… I need NOW. Lastly add one more component. The camo clutch really makes this outfit, but if you don’t have something similar on hand-- fear not! Add a funky necklace or pair of earrings to spruce up the look. Toss on a pair of sneaks or open toed booties and date night here you come!
Look #3: Why in the world have I never owned high waisted army green pants? Someone lmk. This look is probably my favorite from the whole collection. It’s ~trendy~ and oh so casual. This is the perfect look for Sunday brunch or an afternoon museum date. The only thing I cannot get behind is the belt/shoe combo. It has never been kosher to pair brown and black in this way-- J.Crew please figure out who made this traggggic mistake and give them a stern talking to. As always when wearing a low cut white shirt, pair with dainty necklaces. Duh. Also loving this girl’s high pony… copy that too.
