Five Products That Will Bring Your Dry Skin Back to Life

Dry skin is the fucking worst. Nothing makes me feel more uncomfortable than when I’m talking to someone and I literally see their make up flaking off their face. For any of you ladies who may experience this, I used to too.

Fear no more, I’m here to give you the inside scoop. No longer does dry skin need to be a symptom of winter. These five products will change your life. How you might ask? Because I live by ALL of them, duh. From betch to betch, take my advice… you won’t regret it and neither will your skin.

Step One: Wash with a gentle cleanser. I am obsessed with Glossier’s Milky Jelly Cleanser. Not only does it smell like roses, but it takes all your makeup off in one go. Its cream base gives you the moisture that you need all day without making you oily. You could also try Cetaphil's Gentle Skin Cleanser if you want something more, eh idk... basic?

Step Two: Tone, tone, tone. There’s such a misconception about toner and what it does to your skin. I always hear people bitching about how drying it is or how they don’t need it because they "literally never break out". Well news flash people of the 21st century, there is something called hydrating toner. Emphasis on H-Y-D-R-A-T-I-N-G. I use Murad’s Rose Water Hydrating Toner. After I wash my face and pat it dry, I spray no less than ten pumps over my face and neck. I let it sink it for about a minute and then gently massage it into my skin.

Step Three: There is a major line between a moisturizer that helps you and a moisturizer that hurts you. Yes you want all day coverage, but you don’t want to look like a shiny grease ball.

I alternate between First Aid Beauty’s Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration and Origin’s GinZing Energy-Boosting Moisturizer. Sometimes I even mix the two.

Step Four: Don’t fear serums. Up until like last year I thought you could only use them if you were a middle aged mom that was entering menopause. I read sooooooooooo so many good things about the benefits of hydrating serums and finally decided to give them a go. After doing some experimenting, my all time favorite goes to Glossier’s Super Bounce. I swear it’s changed the texture of my skin for the better. I actually use this instead of a primer for makeup.

Step Five: Lastly, don’t forget the details. It’s such a bad look to have creases around eyes. Use a cream that gives you hydration and prevents wrinkles. I tried A Perfect World For Eyes by Origins last year around this time and have never missed a day of application. The smell is orgasmic and the results are even better.

Now light your Zen AF candle, put on our chill Spotify playlist, and follow these steps. I promise, you’ll be addicted by next week.
